Short Sales are Brilliant?

Nick Timiraos from the Wall Street Journal reports on a brilliant idea that the government has come up with. They want to rent properties out that have been foreclosed on! While this seems like a novel idea, it's not a new idea. A similar idea was floated last year. The problem that I see is that it delays the inevitable. You still have millions of homes that are sitting on the government's property roles that are underwater.

I have an idea......why don't they enact programs that prevent foreclosures or promote alternatives to foreclosures......maybe short sales! ?!
